Steve Shults has been a partner at Shults Law Firm for more than three decades. He has extensive experience in a broad range of commercial litigation and other disputes. Steve has represented clients at all levels of federal and Arkansas courts, as well as before regulatory agencies and arbitral tribunals.
Steve’s cases include contract, insurance, real estate, trust and estate, products liability, class action, multi-district, constitutional, securities, civil rights, intellectual property, antitrust, qui tam, debtor-creditor, fraud, banking, UCC, employment, and domestic relations litigation. His clients have run the gamut from individuals and small businesses to some of the world’s largest companies. He was an NASD/FINRA arbitrator for approximately twenty years.
Steve also is dedicated to improving the system of justice. He served twelve years on the Arkansas Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct, adjudicating professional responsibility complaints against lawyers. He is a twenty-year board member of an organization supporting Legal Services in Arkansas with pro bono recruitment and fundraising, and he received the Arkansas Bar Foundation/Arkansas Bar Association Equal Justice Distinguished Service Award in 2019. Steve has served in leadership roles in the state and local bar associations and has served on and chaired federal court committees.
Steve was a law clerk for then-Chief Judge G. Thomas Eisele of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas before practicing law with Davis, Graham & Stubbs in Denver, Colorado, for three years. Before that, he worked as a cowboy, a sailor, and a Norwegian dairy farmhand.
